No, Mr. President

From the sermon: "The Baby in My Womb Leaped for Joy" by John Piper.

It's a magnificent thing: The only newly-originating life in the universe that comes in the image of God is Man. The only newly-originating life in the universe that lasts forever is Man.

This is an awesome thing.

And, as everyone knows, that reverence is not shared by our new President, over whom we have rejoiced.

He is trapped and blind in a culture of deceit. On the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, he released this statement,
"We are reminded that this decision not only protects women’s health and reproductive
freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our
most private family matters."

To which I say:

No, Mr. President, you are not protecting women; you are authorizing the destruction of 500,000 little women every year.

No, Mr. President, you are not protecting reproductive freedom; you are authorizing the destruction of freedom for one million little human beings every year.

No, Mr. President, killing our children is killing our children no matter how many times you call it a private family matter. You may say it is a private family matter over and over and over, and still they are dead. And we killed them. And you, would have it remain legal.

Mr. President, some of us wept for joy at your inauguration. And we pledge that we will pray for you.

We have hope in our sovereign God.

I am officially a student at Webster University, seeking a professional mental health master's degree. GO ME! Registered my first 2 semsters yesterday!

Work, Work and more Work

It's been a great day thus far! Went this morning and did some work at a good friends house, helping her get her life all organized for the family coming in this weekend for her daughter's graduation, went to lunch, finished the work at the house and came back to the office. Going to have dinner tonight with some good friends, watch AI and vote 5000000x for Kris Allen, hoping to make him the next American Idol, and then home to get ready to do it all over again tomorrow.

We showed the house yesterday. Apparently the couple liked the house, but thought that it didn't really fit them. Losers. Someone needs to buy my house already. For real.

On a happier note, I just finished up the semester and am all registered and ready to go for my FINAL semester as an undergraduate student. 3 online courses in 8 weeks and I am FINISHED!!! YAY! (I hate you Holly.... you know why!)

Sigh

How unfair for a guest celebrity on American Idol to pimp out a contestant? I mean seriously, as if the judges aren't doing enough for Adam, Katy Perry has to be a part of it too!? Don't get me wrong, that boy can sing, but I'm for Kris Allen all the way since Danny is no more!!! No wonder Adam screeched, "I want to see Katy Perry" when Danny was expressing his desire to get the results over with. Anyone else think Perry's performance was a bit dramatic and disturbing? The Idol guest performances have been interesting to say the least this season. Here's to hoping they get better next season!

Update

Wow.. life has been incredibly busy lately! Here's whats been going on in the Pfeifer house as of late.....

Doug FINALLY received the conditional offer of employment with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He completed his physical and mental checkup's, spoke with the psychiatrist and apparently they concluded that he is normal. Who knows where they came up with that conclusion! We put our house on the market and hope to sell soon! Doug starts the academy July 1. Unfortunately, we will not know where he will be assigned until closer to time for him to graduate. Probably around October-December time frame.

That throws us into another obstacle. My education. I graduate August 15th and cannot begin a Master's program until I know where the MSHP is sending us. I'm praying that they send us somewhere close to Springfield, KC, StL, or Columbia as those are the only cities in MO with accredited Social Work programs.

My other concern may seem petty and minor to most, but to me its a huge concern. I am the proud momma of a beautiful 2 year old American Pit Bull. Due to ignorance and pre-conceived schemata, my baby is considered a threat in many towns and is banned. The heinous actions of ignorant people who brutalize the poor breed have contributed to an uneducated fear of one of the most loyal breeds on the planet. That being said, Pit Bull's do have an aggressive nature, mostly towards other dogs, specifically male dogs, as Pit's want to be the "leader of the pack" or the alpha male in most circumstances, however, Pit's are extremely loyal to their owners and are usually people friendly. Human aggression in a Pit Bull is RARE!!!! You can train any dog to hate humans, not just Pit's, which is part of the reason, I am adamantly against BSL (breed specific legislation) laws. Any dog owner needs to cognizant of their pets boddy language and moods to head off any dangerous situations.

Valentine's Day

This weekend was a blast. Between the scavenger hunt, the marriage conference and the beautiful roses that my husband bought me, it was by far the best weekend of the year thus far. Not only did I get to spend the entire weekend with my husband, I also got to laugh and enjoy the company of my closest friends. I wish it were Valentine's day everyday!

Vacation time is calling my name..

I need a change of scenery. I need a beach, some palm trees, the sounds of the ocean and a break from life. A break from the mundane, just some time away from everything that consumes my thoughts so I can focus on myself and on my husband.

Vacation time is calling my name.
